Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American performer, singer and actress. Her family was home-schooled by her mom and her father, in USA. She was subjected to racial taunts and made to feel unwanted. If she attended a school competition and received great praise for her performance, in ninth grade, the girl began to gain confidence. This not only increased her confidence but also changed the direction in which she went on to pursue her career. She was a graduate of New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. At the age of 23, her first Broadway appearance in Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut film, You've Got Mail were both her big breakthroughs. Her most memorable break came from the role of The Lady of The Lake as she appeared in the original Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. The show won her the Tony Award and received great praise for the role. In the following year, she was cast as the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gain more fame. Known as a singer she also released a single and an extended play. She is also a campaigner and has been active to promote LGBT rights.
